Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Google announced that the retirement of Google Ads API v1 will be postponed. This recent update was announced by the search engine giant on April 7, 2020. The new sunset date is now projected to take place on July 29, 2020. However, only time will tell if this new retirement date will stick or not. Web developers and digital marketers will be excited to know that they will now have more time to change their AdWords API and Google Ads API code.
The retirement date move by Google was announced in an effort to help businesses deal with the challenges posed by COVID-19. In spite of the postponement, Google still intends to release new API features and updates. However, these feature updates will not require coding changes for advertisers.
